BLOOD COLLECTION KIT

For most patients, ordering a Blood Collection Kit is the first step in getting tested for Lyme disease or other tick-borne diseases. We also offer a Urine Collection Kit and Miscellaneous Collection Kit, but most tick-borne disease tests offered by IGeneX are compatible with the Blood Collection Kit.

Please note that the Blood Collection Kit is not the actual test, but rather a kit for collecting the blood that will be tested. This is also not an at-home blood collection kit. You need to work with a doctor to order your tests, as well as a blood draw lab to collect your sample. You will then send everything to IGeneX for testing.
$20.00 (This  is a non-refundable deposit that will be deducted from your testing fees.)

WHAT'S IN THE BOX

TESTS PERFORMED WITH THE BLOOD COLLECTION KIT

Using a blood sample, IGeneX can perform a broad range of serological and molecular tests for Lyme Disease and Tick-Borne Illnesses:

Lyme Disease Tests
Lyme disease is not only caused by Borrelia burgdorferi, but multiple species of Lyme Borreliae can cause the disease. IGeneX’s Lyme disease tests cover most species.

Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever (TBRF) Tests
TBRF is caused by a different group of species of Borrelia from the group that causes Lyme disease. IGeneX’s TBRF tests include testing for Borrelia miyamotoi disease.

Bartonella Tests
Bartonellosis includes, but is not limited to, Cat Scratch Disease (CSD) and Trench Fever. IGeneX’s multi-species Western Blots include testing for Bartonella henselae, Bartonella quintana, Bartonella elizabethae, and Bartonella vinsonii.

Babesia Tests
Multiple species of Babesia cause babesiosis, and our tests include Babesia microti and Babesia duncani, both of which are found throughout the USA.

Rickettsia Tests
Multiple species of Rickettsia cause rickettsiosis, and one of those species, Rickettsia rickettsia, is known to cause Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSF). IGeneX tests for Rickettsia rickettsia, Rickettsia typhi, and Rickettsia felis.

Anaplasma Tests
IGeneX tests for Anaplasma phagocytophilum (HGA), one of the causative agents of Anaplasmosis. The same ticks that transmit Lyme disease are known to carry Anaplasma.

Ehrlichia Tests
IGeneX tests for Ehrlichia chaffeesis (HME), one of the causative agents of Ehrlichiosis. The same ticks that transmit Lyme disease are known to carry Ehrlichia.

After Endless Tests I Finally Got An Answer
I am so thankful for this test. After losing weight and having a myriad of symptoms and going to endless doctors with no real answer. I finally found a Natropathic doctor and find a clinic out of State in Nevada to do the test. I finally got my dianosis that I had chronic lyme disease. I have been living with it for 20 years now and I recommend this test to anyone that can't find the answers to their symptoms. Thank you,.

    Expertise and Accuracy
IgeneX was not acceptable to my first doctor, so my blood draw was sent to a standard lab for testing: All of the tick-borne diseases came back negative, but I suffered from knee pain, myalgia, sweats and chills, and was really unwell for the first time in my life. After much searching, I found a literate Lyme disease doctor, who only uses IgeneX: it was not easy to find a blood draw facility that was familiar with the IgeneX process--but, I finally did find a lab an hour away. When the results came back, they showed Lyme, Babesia and Anaplasma. Thankfully, this led to the treatment that was needed. My suggestion to IgeneX is to add more IgeneX labs across the country, with the hope of expediting results faster than 10-14 days: or by presently giving an option at extra charge to expedite results faster for seriously ill patients who need more timely results. In my opinion, IgeneX is a superior, specialized lab that should be recognized for its high standards and expertise: getting out the word to local physicians, with education and incentive, would greatly enhance patient treatment and well-being. thank you

    Wonderful Experience!
IGeneX gave me the clear diagnosis I needed to pursue proper treatment and I am so grateful for that. The testing I've had in the past regarding tick borne illnesses were very faulty and misleading -- this test gave me clear and precise results with a breakdown of a plethora of tick borne illnesses I wasn't even aware of. Thank you, IGeneX for giving me peace of mind and validation! I knew something was wrong and this gave me the answers I needed.

    Most thorough test
My nutritionist recommended I go with this Lyme test. I used a telehealth provider to get the test ordered. When she saw the results she said "wow, this is the most thorough Lyme test I've ever seen. They do a great job". The process of getting it ordered and everything was quite simple and clear. Will definitely be doing it again for my post treatment testing.

    IGeneX has been terrific
My Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) has been using IGeneX many years before me and I am using IGeneX for over 12 years now. They have always been timely and accurate with my blood results. IGeneX has provided excellent customer service all thee years.
  6. Corey Byrd
Doctors couldn't find what was wrong with me, IgeneX did. With their improved sensitivity and specifity both surpassing 90%, I am absolutely confident in my results not being a false positive or false negative.
  7. Cielle Collins
I was so happy with my iGeneX testing. It was the only clear way to find out whether I still had lyme, babesia, and bartonella. My doctor and I both thought that I still had them, but I ended up being clear of all three, so it was well worth the money! I am now able to move on and build back up.
  8. Cielle Collins
I was thrilled with the test I got done at igenex! It was the only clear way to get a picture of whether I still had Lyme, Babesia, and Bartonella. I was thrilled to find out that I’d beaten all of them, even when my doctor and I didn’t think I had. For that reason, the test was worth every penny since I’ve now been able to move on and build back up. Thank you!

    Testing
This is the best test to do, most complete test and I highly recommend it to all people who even could possibly have LYME! Make sure you also have a Lyme Literate Dr.
  10. StacyD
    Happy with results
I gave four stars only due to some admin issues like my kit shipment was stuck and my address was twisted even though I didn’t make a mistake. Other than that, this test changed MY LIFE. I will not stop talking to others about this test. My insurance also covered the test partially if this might be useful for anyone to know.
