WHY OFFER LYME DISEASE TESTING FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES?

Lyme disease is present in all 50 states.

Lyme disease is called “The Great Imitator,” because its symptoms mimic many other diseases. It can affect any organ of the body, including the brain and nervous system, muscles and joints, and the heart. It’s very difficult to diagnosis without testing.

Lyme disease is present in all 50 states and cases are growing. In January 2021, the
CDC estimated that annual Lyme disease cases from 2010–2018 were 476,000. This is 45% higher than the prior decade, when 329,000 people annually had Lyme.

Many of your employees, and their family members, are exposed to ticks and are likely candidates to contract Lyme disease. IGeneX has developed industry-leading tests with a sensitivity rate nearly double that of the two-tier testing protocol established by the CDC.

UNTREATED LYME CAN COST $10,000

The best patient outcomes are achieved when Lyme disease is diagnosed and treated early. If not, the disease-causing infection has more time to spread, which can lead to severe or chronic health issues.

In a survey from 2019, IGeneX found that nearly 36 percent of patients with Lyme spent more than $10,000 on tests, treatments, appointments, and other costs associated with their disease. Also, a
ccording to the survey:

  • 45% of patients needed 3+ years to obtain the proper diagnosis
  • 65% of patients were forced to cut back on work hours
  • 24% of patients saw more than ten doctors before diagnosis
  • 86% of patients suffer from long-term side effects

WHAT TESTS TO OFFER YOUR EMPLOYEES?

COVID 19 Student Blood Draw
Lyme Disease Employer Panel

IGeneX is offering a special panel for employers that consists of ImmunoBlot testing and PCR testing. The ImmunoBlot is the most advanced antibody test for Lyme disease because it detects more pathogens than traditional tests, such as ELISA and western blots. PCR testing is important for patients who may be seronegative and may not respond to an antibody test.

What's in the panel?
  • Lyme ImmunoBlot IgM
  • Lyme ImmunoBlot IgG
  • Lyme PCR Serum
  • Lyme PCR Whole Blood
$686   $599

THE SUPERIORITY OF THE IMMUNOBLOT

The ImmunoBlot test for Lyme disease has a sensitivity greater than 93%, whereas the ELISA and Western Blot two-tier testing protocol recommended by the CDC has a sensitivity of only 57.6%
