WHAT IS THE DRIVE THRU COVID-19 + FLU + RSV COMBO TEST?
Some experts are concerned that RSV, coupled with COVID and the Flu, may result in what’s being dubbed as a “tripledemic” this winter. IGeneX is happy to add Flu and RSV testing to our COVID-19 test offerings.
IGeneX’s drive-thru testing tent at our headquarters in Milpitas, California is a quick, easy and effective way to test for all three illnesses. You don’t even need to get out of your car. We have appointments available weekdays from 8:30am – 1pm and deliver test results within 24 hours.
HOW TO GET TESTED?
Schedule an Appointment
- Appointments are available every 5 minutes, M – F, 8:30am – 1pm at IGeneX headquarters in Milpitas, CA, which is just outside of San Jose. Map here.
- You can change your appointment time after it has been scheduled
- If you cannot make the appointment window of 8:30am – 1pm, please call Customer Service at 1-800-832-3200 and we will try to accomodate your needs
Attend the Appointment
- Go to IGeneX headquarters at 556 Gibraltar Dr. Milpitas, CA 95035
- Proceed to the white tent in the front parking lot following the direction of travel in the diagram below
- Please bring your insurance card so we can verify your information
- No special preparation, such as fasting, is required for your test. You will be provided with a self-swab kit to collect your sample. Trained staff will be available to assist you.
Get Results
After your sample and is collected, IGeneX will process your order and deliver the test results to you via email within 24 hours.
WHO SHOULD BE TESTED FOR COVID-19, FLU, and RSV?
Even though many people have been vaccinated from COVID-19 and the flu, it’s clear, due to uncertainty surrounding vaccine immunity, that testing will play a critical role in ensuring safety across many aspects of life. That is why we recommend testing for students, employees, event goers, and those in community settings such as assisted living facilities. These are situations when potentially at-risk people come together and viruses can be transmitted.
For RSV, there is currently no vaccine, so testing is the best way to determine exposure and development of a treatment plan.
WHAT IS RSV?
RSV, or Respiratory Syncytial Virus, is a common winter virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms that typically appear in stages, not all at once. Symptoms can include runny nose, loss of appetite, coughing, sneezing and wheezing. Some people with RSV may have a fever, but not everyone. RSV can be very serious for infants, older adults, or anyone with respiratory issues.
RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lung) and pneumonia (infection of the lungs) in children younger than 1 year of age in the United States.
